Crystal Palace update ahead of Leeds United clash shared by injury expert

Crystal Palace could be without three players for their Premier League clash against Leeds United, according to injury expert, Ben Dinnery.

The Eagles are currently sweating on the fitness of Chris Richards, with Dinnery rating the 23-year-old’s chances of playing at “50 per cent” (Premier injuries).

Nathan Ferguson is also being assessed and has a “25 per cent” chance of featuring at Elland Road on Sunday (9 April).

Furthermore, Roy Hodgson has been dealt a major blow with Wilfried Zaha “ruled out” of the game against Leeds with a muscular strain.

Dangerous

Palace have endured a tough run of form lately but secured a vital win over Leicester City in their most recent fixture. They’ve struggled for goals but still harbour plenty of attacking talent which could cause Leeds problems on the break.

During the Whites’ win over Nottingham Forest, Steve Cooper’s side attempted to catch Gracia’s men on the counterattack, particularly in the first half. They weren’t overly efficient, but if Leeds face a more potent and pacey side, they could face problems defensively.

Nevertheless, there should be a good feeling around Elland Road heading into this fixture. The performance against Forest was one of the best of the season and a repeat display should see Gracia’s men secure back-to-back victories.

A win against the South Londoners will see Leeds with an excellent chance of securing their Premier League status.

Palace without Zaha are a completely different proposition and if the 30-year-old is unavailable, it’s an opportunity which cannot be passed up.
