Crysencio Summerville spotted in rage at Joel Piroe during 4-0 Leeds United loss at QPR

Crysencio Summerville was spotted in a rage at Leeds United teammate Joel Piroe during the 4-0 defeat at QPR, according to Beren Cross.

The Leeds Live journalist reported via the outlet’s website (27 April) that the Dutch winger had given his compatriot “both barrels” during a first-half miscommunication as the Whites attackers failed to get anything going on a dismal night at Loftus Road.

Already 2-0 down thanks to goals from Ilias Chair and Lucas Andersen another failed Leeds attack saw Summerville lose his temper with Piroe when frustration started to “boil over” as Daniel Farke’s men couldn’t get themselves back into the game.

Cross wrote: “By the 34th minute, frustration was starting to boil over as United attacks increasingly amounted to nothing in the QPR half. Summerville had the ball on the left and waited for Joel Piroe to drop in towards him for a pass, but stayed against the backline, some distance away.

“Once the attack had been snuffed out, Summerville would give Piroe both barrels for not being more alive to what the winger was trying to do. The striker mustered a less enthusiastic response.”

Daniel Farke sees Leeds United promotion hopes hit

It is easy to blame Piroe when the former Swansea striker is going through a rough patch and plenty of fans would have liked to have seen Mateo Joseph start the game once Patrick Bamford was ruled out.

After a couple of early attempts the forward’s game disintegrated and by the second half he was either dropping far too deep to be a threat or blasting hopeless efforts over the bar from distance.

But his lack of understanding with Summerville was symptomatic of a dreadful all-round Leeds United performance, where the winger himself did next to nothing to indicate he is the Championship Player of the Season and was blamed for what happened by one pundit live on Sky Sports.

Equally Georginio Rutter, who himself has starred this season and was named in the division’s Team of the Season alongside Summerville was anonymous as well, aside from screwing arguably the Whites’ best opportunity wide from close range in the second half.

The showing from a Leeds side which has been very impressive for the most part this season was so disappointing it is more surprising that there wasn’t more of a reaction like Summerville’s during the game, notwithstanding Joe Rodon’s general fury.

Any side can have an off-day but to be thrashed at a relegation-threatened side with potential automatic promotion on the line is alarming, so Farke and his players have to find a reaction or the descent into the play offs could show exactly why fans have been desperate to avoid it all season.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay admits a major potential Whites transfer will “100%” be in focus this summer.
