Crysencio Summerville speculates over future Leeds United exit

Leeds United youngster Crysencio Summerville has shared an update on his future, speculating that he could one day return to Feyenoord.

The Whites signed the winger from the Dutch outfit in September 2020 on a three-year contract.

Summerville had been with the Eredivisie club from a very young age before his switch to England.

“I absolutely did not demand a place [in their first-team],” Summerville told AD, as transcribed by LeedsAllOver.

“I didn’t want an absurd salary. Then you get to the point where the club wants to sell you.

“Of course, it still hurts at times. I played (at Feyenoord) from the age of six. Maybe I’ll play there [again] someday.”

Future return possible

Leeds have made many mistakes in recent transfer windows, but the deal to bring the relatively unknown Summerville to Elland Road back in 2020 looks to be a good one, even if the winger hasn’t set the world alight since his move.

At 21 years old, he is only going to get better, but Summerville has already shown how talented he is, registering four goals and two assists from his 23 Premier League matches this season.

It may not seem a lot in the wider scheme of things, but it is certainly more than other Leeds attackers have provided in recent months.

Moreover, Summerville joined the Whites in a transfer window that also saw Cody Drameh and Joe Gelhardt arrive at Elland Road, two players who have not had the success that the Dutch winger has had in the senior squad.

For now the youngster will be fully focused on helping Leeds stay in the top flight, but his love for former club and potential future club Feyenoord is understandable given how much time he spent there.

In other Leeds United news, Tony Dorigo believes one Whites midfielder could be the missing ingredient that could help free up Weston McKennie in the final third.
