Crysencio Summerville has strong bargaining power at Leeds United with inevitable interest coming – report

Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville will face inevitable interest this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.

That’s according to Beren Cross, who has insisted that the Dutchman is in a strong bargaining position to decide his future plans.

Cross did admit that it does depend on whether or not the Whites have an undisclosed extension clause in his current deal.

Writing in his latest column for Leeds Live, Cross shared that things may be different this summer around.

“Inevitably, there will be more interest in the summer in a winger who has still only played 122 minutes of Premier League action this season,” he wrote.

“Summerville’s contract, barring undisclosed extension clauses, is also set to expire in a little over 12 months, strengthening his bargaining power this close season.”

No brainer.

There is simply no question behind what Leeds should be doing right now.

Summerville going into the final year of his deal should get them panicking, and they should be looking to extend that imminently.

The young winger smashed home a hattrick for the under-23s in his last outing against Crystal Palace, and Jesse Marsch will no doubt have been impressed.

With five substitutes coming into play in the Premier League next season, Summerville will get so many more chances.

Marsch has already spoken out this week about how impressed he has been with the winger after sitting him down and laying out some demands.

That has to be rewarded, first with more playing time off the bench and then a new deal with the idea of pushing him even further forward with his progression along with the likes of Joe Gelhardt.

Losing one of our own wonderkids now would be a disaster.
