Craig Moore raves about Crysencio Summerville after Leeds United transfer update

Australian football pundit Craig Moore has been raving about Cryensio Summerville after it was reported that Leeds United snubbed interest in the winger in the summer transfer window.

According to freelance journalist Pete O’Rourke, Summerville, 19, caught the eye of Swansea, Club Brugge, Groningen and Heerenveen as they aimed to sign the Dutch attacker on loan.

It is understood that Leeds kept hold of Summerville because Marcelo Bielsa now has him in his first-team plans.

Ex-Crystal Palace and Rangers defender Moore watched Summerville play for Leeds’ Under-23s against Palace not too long ago and was impressed by what he saw.

“Good player. Watched him against Crystal Palace a couple of weeks ago,” said Moore via his personal Twitter account on Thursday.

Time for a debut

Summerville has been with Leeds for almost a year now but is yet to play in the senior squad despite taking the Under-23s by storm.

Last season, the former Feyenoord and ADO Den Haag attacker scored six goals and supplied six assists in 14 Premier League 2 appearances for Mark Jackson’s side as they won the Division 2 title.

Summerville has been named on Bielsa’s bench five times in all competitions. Interestingly, he’s been on the bench for every match so far this season for the Whites.

However, we all thought that the Dutch teenager would get a chance to play against Crewe in the Carabao Cup but unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

While we understand why Bielsa did what he did for the Crewe game because more senior players needed match minutes, he cannot keep ignoring Summerville for long.

Helder Costa’s exit and Daniel James’ arrival on deadline day doesn’t mean anything has changed for a player who is perhaps fourth or fifth in the pecking order of wingers at Elland Road.

Summerville is an electric talent and we really want to see him play a first-team game soon.
