Leeds United: David Prutton predicts result of ‘fascinating’ Coventry City clash for Sky Sports
Sky Sports host David Prutton has predicted Leeds United will earn a narrow victory when they travel to Coventry City this weekend.
The Whites remain unbeaten in the Championship in 2024 and are second heading into the latest round of fixtures.
Leeds were 3-1 winners over Hull City on Monday (2 April), while Coventry lost 2-1 to Cardiff City at the CBS Arena.
Sharing his prediction on the Sky Sports Championship Predictions podcast [4 April], Prutton said: “Leeds are another team with momentum.
“They didn’t play to their best ability against Hull but it didn’t matter. They’ve got genuine game-changers. Leeds should be doing what they’re doing with their squad depth.
“They’ve got Premier League-quality players that didn’t do themselves any favours in the top division. It’ll be a fascinating game. I’ll go 2-1 Leeds.”
Leeds United head-to-head record vs Coventry City
The sides played out a 1-1 draw when they met earlier in the campaign as Bobby Thomas cancelled out Crysencio Summerville’s opener.
However, it is fair to say Leeds are a difference beast now compared to that most recent meeting four months ago.
Whereas the Whites were inconsistent in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign, they have been on fire since the turn of the year.
That was the sides’ first meeting in any competition in 11 years, having avoided each other in the intervening period.

Leeds are winless in three in this fixture since a 1-0 win at Elland Road in February 2011 when Davide Somma scored the only goal.
Daniel Farke’s men could do with snapping that winless streak on Saturday (6 April) if they are to keep their automatic promotion hopes on track.
A draw or a defeat, meanwhile, and they will be relying on favours from elsewhere.
In other Leeds United news, Daniel Farke has shared an injury update on Willy Gnonto and Ilia Gruev ahead of the Coventry game.
