'Corrupt to the core', 'Wow' - Some Leeds fans react to EFL announcement about WBA senior man
Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has been beaten by West Brom’s Slaven Bilic to winning the Championship’s manager of the month award.
It was confirmed on the EFL’s official website on Friday that Bilic has been awarded the prize for February after winning 16 points from seven goals and scoring 13 goals in the process.
West Brom ended February at the top of the Championship table thanks to reviving their form following an awful run of results around Christmas and throughout January.
However Leeds had a similar upturn in results in February and while they now sit top of the table, Bielsa was a bit unfortunate to miss out.
Leeds didn’t pick up as many points as West Brom last month but the Argentine achieved a similar feat to Bilic by reigniting his side’s bid for automatic promotion from the Championship.
But even though Bielsa would have deserved the award too, some Leeds fans are happy that the EFL named Bilic as February’s top boss due to the perceived “curse” that surrounds the award.

Bilic’s face saying – “yeah, cheers for the curse. Just what I need at this stage of the season!” 😂

While some fans are happy to see Bilic win the award, there are still plenty of other Leeds supporters that are angry Bielsa didn’t get what they thought he deserved.
One even said that it was a “shocking” decision.

Rather magnanimously, this next Leeds fans thought that Wigan manager Paul Cook should have won the award.
Relegation-threatened Wigan won away at both West Brom and Leeds last month to move themselves away from the bottom-three so it’s a very good shout.
Wow that’s should’ve been paul cook

We played 7 games in Feb and the start was the end of our dodgy patch, so our record overall in Feb was good but not brilliant.
Really this should have gone to Wigan.
