‘Spotless’, ‘Different class’ – Many Leeds fans blown away by ‘Underrated’ ace v Blackburn

Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper recovered just in time to lead the Whites to a convincing 3-1 victory against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

The defender was forced off in the 1-1 draw against Luton on Tuesday with what looked like a worrying back injury at the time at Elland Road.

Cooper hadn’t trained with the squad all week according to Kalvin Phillips, but he returned in time to partner Ben White again.

The Whites’ captain was phenomenal in the victory, and Marcelo Bielsa will have left Lancashire delighted with what he saw from his side.

Cooper endured a shaky start, but once the rest of the team settled around him, he stepped up with his side with a real captain’s performance.

The defender even looked to fall onto the same area that troubled him against Luton, and on a different day could have been forced off again.

To bounce back from that and put in the performance after certainly proved that this side is made with a real determination behind them.

Bielsa would have been delighted to have his captain available and he was repaid for that in the 3-1 victory.

The 28-year-old won five of his aerial duels and made a clearance from a set-piece according to WhoScored as he guided his side home.

With the victory, Leeds now only need 10 points from their remaining five games in the Championship to return to the Premier League.

Many Leeds fans reacted to the performance of Cooper, claiming he is edging nearer to lifting the Championship title in less than a months time.
