Leeds United defender Connor Roberts is "fine" and has not suffered a new injury ahead of the playoff clash with Norwich City, according to Graham Smyth.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reported via X (10 May) that the Welsh international, who has struggled for fitness this term, has been in training in the lead-up to the trip to Carrow Road on Sunday (12 May).

Roberts returned to the fold in the Whites' final-day defeat at the hands of Southampton, coming off of the bench in the last 12 minutes and despite some speculation among fans, he appears to have come through unscathed.

Writing on X, Smyth said: "Connor Roberts is fine, for those who were asking. Been in team training."

Will Connor Roberts play for Leeds United v Norwich City in the Championship playoffs?

Leeds United were incredibly quiet in the January transfer window. Despite plenty of speculation linking players with moves both in and out of Elland Road, the Whites only made one loan signing, Roberts.

The Welsh international was brought to Yorkshire to replace Djed Spence after his loan spell from Tottenham was cut short in January and while he has impressed when fit, he hasn't played as much football as he would have liked.

Roberts has only started two Championship games this season, scoring a single goal and laying on one assist but he wasn't quite able to have the decisive impact that so many at Elland Road hoped he would in the second half of the campaign.

However, the 18-year-old now has a chance to finish his spell with the Whites on a high note if he can help them navigate the playoffs. When Roberts starts, Leeds look more balanced as his presence frees up Archie Gray.

Hopefully, he can remain fit and available and help Farke's side make an immediate return to the Premier League.
