Connor Roberts injury blow as Leeds United star forced off in Wales loss v Poland

Leeds United have suffered an injury blow after Connor Roberts was forced off in the Wales defeat against Poland, according to Adam Pope.

The BBC Radio Leeds journalist tweeted after the game on Tuesday (26 March) that it was “tough” on Dan James as the Whites winger missed the crucial penalty for his side in their shootout loss in Cardiff.

He added that Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon were “excellent” as they just couldn’t quite do enough to help their country reach the European Championships following their playoff defeat.

Leeds United hoping Connor Roberts injury isn’t serious

It will be a huge blow for Leeds if Roberts is to miss any time through injury after he’s made a big impact over the past few weeks.

Although the 28-year-old hasn’t been included in the starting lineup too often, he’s made a contribution off the bench and his experience around the group has clearly been rubbing off.

Just having someone of his quality breathing down the neck of the likes of Archie Gray creates healthy competition and isn’t something Daniel Farke will want to miss out on.

The Whites players involved for Wales against Poland will no doubt be gutted after their side narrowly lost out on securing their place at the European Championships.

But they will determined to put this setback behind them and help their club secure promotion to the Premier League over the next few weeks at Elland Road.
