Confirmed: Leeds forward exits on loan with permanent option included
Leeds United have clearly identified the final third as an area to strengthen at all levels.
Charlie Allen has joined the under-18s, with both Joseph Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood all but set to be with the under-23s next season.
As well as that, Rodrigo is set to complete his move to Elland Road this week after completing medical in Valencia on Wednesday.
So, with that number of new forwards being at the club, some are surely set to leave.
Wednesday saw Real Oviedo confirm the loan signing of Rafa Mujica until the end of June next season.
The Spanish club confirmed on their website that the loan agreement also includes an option-to-buy, with the young forward already joining training.
Oviedo also shared that the official announcement of Mujica to the Spanish media will happen on Thursday evening.
When Leeds confirmed the news on their website, they didn’t release the fact that there was a permanent option-to-buy in the contract.
The 21-year-old has never quite made it at Thorp Arch and has sealed many loan moves in the progress since moving from Barcelona B.
Mujica spent last season at Extremadura and Villareal B, scoring only four goals in 15 games – struggling in the senior game.
With those numbers clearly not impressing Marcelo Bielsa and his staff, it is no surprise to see Mujica shipped out again and this time, possibly permanently.
In other Leeds United news, a second medical is set to take place at the Whites as a £3million deal agreed with this PL club
