Confirmed: Jamie Shackleton ruled out for Leeds United v Bristol City, Jaidon Anthony 50/50
Daniel Farke will be without Jamie Shackleton for the clash with Bristol City while Leeds will make a late decision on Jaidon Anthony and Sam Byram.
Shackleton is suffering from a shoulder injury and won’t be available for the game, while winger Anthony is rated as “50/50” for the clash after rolling his ankle in the win over Queens Park Rangers.
Joe Rodon will be fine to play after his knock in midweek, while a decision will be made on Sam Byram after he played twice this week already.
“Jamie [Shackleton] will sadly miss the game,” he said. “His shoulder too painful. Needs further assessment. Bad news.”
“[Sam]Byram we have to see. Make a late call. Situation is better than last time. More and more in his rhythm.
“Joe [Rodon] is all right, he’s a warrior. No problem at all. Jaidon [Anthony] had a knock and he will be 50-50. Rolled his ankle. Much improved today and could train, but have to see.”
Building
Leeds are currently in a building stage and while performances and results have improved since the last international break, things still aren’t completely perfect.
We are winning games and keeping clean sheets, with five in our last six games, but the defeat to Southampton showed some glaring issues and we haven’t been nearly as efficient in front of goal as we need to be.
Injuries have no doubt played a part in this at times, but Farke is also still trying to find his best starting lineup and which players he trusts completely to step in when that XI isn’t available.

This team news will likely see how Farke deals with that a little bit better now, and give an idea on how he plans to move forward for the rest of the season and a win heading into the international break will only be positive for the morale and feeling around the club.
We’re building the foundations to get back into the top flight and then stay there for a while, and Farke is the man for that.
