Cole Palmer blasts Charlie Cresswell after what the Leeds United player did in last 24 hours

Cole Palmer has seemingly blasted Charlie Cresswell on social media after what the Leeds United defender did for England U-21s on Thursday (12 October).

The 21-year-old played the full 90 minutes for the Three Lions as they claimed a convincing 9-1 victory over Serbia U-21s in a European Championships qualifier despite the Whites centre-back missing an excellent opportunity to score a header for his side.

Cresswell posted on Instagram that it was a “great night under the lights”, with Palmer, who signed for Chelsea for £42.5million over the summer, responding by saying “score that header” and an angry face emoji.

Promising

It looks as though Palmer was probably only sending the message to Cresswell as a joke, but he would’ve liked to have got on the scoresheet.

The fact that the Leeds defender is so highly thought of that he’s a key part of a side containing players such as the Chelsea forward is really promising for the club.

That England U-21s side is packed with talent and it’s really encouraging to see him playing the entire 90 minutes despite five substitutions being made.

He will now be hoping this form for the Three Lions can help put him in a position to earn more minutes at Elland Road this season.

The centre-back has made just six appearances so far during this campaign as he’s currently down the pecking order, but he’ll back himself to eventually prove his worth in West Yorkshire once more opportunities come his way.

In other Leeds United news, Graham Smyth has made an “unusual” admission as he tipped a Whites player to break a league record.
