Cody Drameh must receive first-team promise amid Leeds United transfer update
Leeds United are reportedly trying their hardest to keep Cody Drameh at Elland Road this summer but must hand him a future incentive to sway his decision.
Drameh has successfully spent the second half of the season out on loan with Luton Town, helping them into a tremendous 3rd place position in the Championship and to an unprecedented playoff final date with Coventry City.
Reliable transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed on 14 April that there has been no new decision on the youngster’s long-term future but according to Daily Mail [29 April], he seems keen to leave West Yorkshire this summer.

And in a new report provided by Romano, it seems the Whites are not prepared to let him go just yet.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday evening (17 May), Guardian journalist and transfer insider Romano shared an update on the young defender’s future at Elland Road, with a host of teams from different leagues interested in his services.
“Cody Drameh, into the playoff final — Leeds trying hardest to keep him while Luton want to do everything to sign the right-back hoping to play Premier League football,” he wrote.
“Championship, Premier League and European clubs all monitoring the situation closely.
“No decision has been taken.”
Right-back has been a problem position for both Jesse Marsch and Gracia this season, with Luke Ayling seemingly past his best and Rasmus Kristensen proving an unreliable option since his summer move.
And given the club’s dreadful defensive displays over the past couple of months, it could prove incredibly damaging for the club’s long-term goal if they were to let go of a player vastly excelling over at the Hatters this season.
Drameh has been something of a revelation at Luton, given that they have only lost once in his 18 appearances for the Hatters, which came in a narrow 1-0 defeat against Burnley.
Across his Championship appearances, the 21-year-old has averaged an incredible 7.38 rating from WhoScored, which sees him ranked as the best player in the squad as well as providing two assists, averaging 3.3 tackles and 1.1 interceptions per game showcasing his tremendous 1v1 defensive qualities.
The 21-year-old is clearly looking for first-team guarantees anywhere he can get it, and the reason he’s incredibly hesitant about his future at Elland Road is simply a result of the club’s lack of trust in him.

However, that’s why he was sent to Luton in the first place, to get the first-team experience his talents crave and he has certainly been better for that hugely important decision.
With Leeds United now seemingly changing their stance to keep him, they’ve got to hand him the first-team assurances he desires and given the club’s desperation for a quality right-back now, they have a potential solution right under their nose.
Though, all of that picture could dramatically change should Luton secure their Premier League spot for next season and Drameh’s parent club drop down to the Championship. A potential damaging spanner in Leeds United’s long-term plans for the talented defender.
In other Leeds news, a finance expert has stated that Andrea Radrizzani is set for another risk at Elland Road after a new takeover development emerges.
