Cody Drameh admits Leeds United transfer decision will be made this summer

Cody Drameh has refused to be drawn into transfer speculation about his future at Leeds United and admitted that a decision would be made in the summer.

The 21-year-old has been in fine form since sealing his January loan move to Championship side Luton Town, with the Hatters currently sitting in third place with three games of the season remaining.

GiveMeSport journalist Dean Jones reported earlier this week (19 April) that the right-back already has a potential transfer offer on the table ahead of the summer window.

However, as reported by Luton Today, Drameh refused to elaborate on his imminent future at Leeds United and told reporters that his future at the club would be sealed in the summer.

“We’ll see, we’ll see, we’ve got three games left of the season and then the playoffs as well, so I’ll keep focusing on that,” Drameh said after the 1-1 draw against Reading (Thursday, 20 April).

“For me, it’s just about keep playing until the end of the season. We’ve just got to focus on the playoffs and then in the summer, there’ll be a decision to make.

“But I’m happy to be here, and hopefully we can just go into the Premier League.”

Worrying times

Right-back has been a serious problem for Leeds United over the past couple of years, with Luke Ayling struggling to nail down the spot.

Although Rasmus Kristensen was signed by the club last summer, the 25-year-old has looked a little underwhelming at times, and as a result, it was strange to see Drameh leave the club on a temporary move in the winter window.

Since moving to Kenilworth Road, the full-back has been in terrific form, playing 14 times and registering two assists to his name during the club’s surge on the Championship playoff spots.

It would come as no surprise to see a host of Premier League clubs come snooping for Drameh in the summer transfer window, and Leeds really need to sit the youngster down and try to get him signed up on a new contract.

With the Englishman’s contract at Elland Road expiring at the end of next season, the coming couple of months are going to be crucial in the path that Drameh’s career takes.
