Club Brugges would send Charles De Ketelaere to England to seal Leeds United transfer if they could choose now

Club Brugges would send Charles De Ketelaere to England now to sign for Leeds United if they had a choice, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper has reported in its print edition [25 July, pg. 2] that AC Milan are still in the race and remains the Belgian wonders’ preference at this stage.

It is shared that Milan has an issue raising the needed cash though, with Leeds having an offer worth in total £34.1million on the table still.

De Ketelaere is said to have agreed on personal terms with AC Milan, which is making this transfer more complicated with each passing day.

No contact has been distinguished between Brugges and Milan in the past 24 hours though after the latest round of failed talks to try and get this move over the line.

It is said that the Italian side will make one last lunge in the next 48 hours to finalise the move, all while Leeds wait in the background with an offer ready to be accepted.

Waiting game.

Patience is going to be key here, and it finally looks as though this week we could get an answer.

Andrea Radrizzani has been smart, and coughing up the cash early in a bid to Club Brugges means they can stand firm with AC Milan and don’t have to drop their asking price.

That is troubling the Italian side, who also missed out on Sven Botman because of a similar saga with Newcastle earlier in the summer, and must now be having nightmares.

It is all down to figures below £5million, but yet they still can’t appear to cough up the extra cash needed – something they would have done if it wasn’t an issue.

Leeds’ confidence will be growing by the day, and given Brugges are happy to send De Ketelaere to England for this amount of money, the ball may soon be in our court.

Hopefully, we have an answer before the next and final pre-season friendly with Cagliari next weekend, and we may see the club put their foot on the gas to get this over the line.

Here we go?
