Club Brugges want to sell Charles De Ketelaere to Leeds United over AC Milan with monster bid ready

Club Brugges are keen to sell Charles De Ketelaere to Leeds United over AC Milan with a monster bid worth more than £30million ready to go, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper has reported in their print edition [12 July, pg. 48] that the deal is now on for the Whites, who can pay the demand of £25.6million upfront, with add-ons taking it to £31.6million.

AC Milan are offering less than that, and although De Ketelaere wants the move to the San Siro, Leeds have the imminent Raphinha money to play with as £48million profit is expected on the Brazilian.

Writing in his latest snippet for the Mirror, David Anderson shared the latest on any potential move for the Belgian wonder, De Ketelaere.

“Leeds hope to spend half the cash raked in from Raphinha’s record £65million sale to Barcelona on Belgium striker Charles De Ketelaere,” he wrote.

“The Elland Road club are prepared to offer a club record £31.6million to Bruges for 21-year-old forward De Ketelaere and will meet their demands for £25.6million up front.

“That is significantly more than rivals AC Milan have tabled, Bruges are keen to sell to Leeds but De Ketelaere would prefer to join Milan because they can offer him Champions League football.”

Leeds United

Ready to go.

There are so many contrasting updates on De Ketelaere that it is hard to know where we stand.

What is consistent is that Leeds are ready to pay big for the Belgian star and bigger than AC Milan for that matter, who appear to be clinging to the players’ wish for the deal.

If Brugges are keen to sell to the Whites to bring in that big money though, they could refuse to deal with the Italians, which may then force De Ketelaere to make a decision.

Raphinha made a name for himself at Elland Road and is now moving on to Barcelona, and that is something the Belgian attacker could look at as motivation.

We, of course, don’t want to view ourselves as a stepping stone, but that is how it may need to be sold to De Ketelaere given he has Champions League ambitions and we finished 17th last season.

The money is there to play with now, and that can do funny things to clubs and players – this one is going to down to the very wire, we can’t keep our eyes off this.
