Club Brugges not helped by Leeds United as they want Charles De Ketelaere auction

Club Brugge have not been helped by Leeds United as they look to fuel an auction for Charles De Ketelaere this summer, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper has reported in their print edition (18 July, pg. 10) that the Whites have been discouraged by the Belgian wonder wanting to join AC Milan.

Everton are also in the same boat, although Leeds have made it clear that they are prepared to meet the asking price upfront – something other clubs aren’t open to doing.

Leeds are prepared to pay £31.6million for De Ketelaere, and that would be a club-record deal.

AC Milan are trying their best to reach that figure but they can’t do that straight up as Leeds can, and that is no doubt going to turn the heads of Club Brugge.

The Whites are dying out for a new striker and Victor Orta is working hard day and night as the pre-season tour of Australia continues this week.

With the Premier League season less than three weeks away now, other targets such as Arnaud Kalimuendo and Martin Terrier are starting to appear.

Priority.

There is no two ways about it, Leeds will sign a striker this summer.

One thing that is clear is that is now very unlikely to be De Ketelaere given that the club is now likely just frustrated that this is being dragged on much longer than it needs to be.

The player has made up his mind, and Brugges are clearly just sticking it out as long as possible to get the best deal, but that is only going to backfire on them.

If AC Milan do win the race as expected, it will most likely be the worst possible deal for the Belgian side, as they won’t get the most money straight up that they can.

Leeds are moving on it seems with more names appearing with each passing day as the season gets closer, and Brugges will be left scratching their heads if they don’t make a decision soon.
