Club Brugges chief continues to bluff AC Milan as Leeds United windfall clear in Charles De Ketelaere race

Club Brugge are using the £34.1million bid from Leeds United to continue to bluff AC Milan in the race for Charles De Ketelaere, according to HLN.

The Belgian outlet shared that Brugges CEO, Vincent Mannaert, is described as a tough nut to crack in negotiations as the race for the striker continues.

It is shared that it is no surprise that a Premier League club who battled relegation last season can afford to offer more than the Serie A champions due to windfalls.

AC Milan have suffered very heavy losses in recent years despite their success, with no real revenue created from player sales on top of that.

Leeds, on the other hand, have absolutely flourished under another Italian, Andrea Radrizzani.

Not to mention the near £100million brought in for Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha this summer, the Whites also posted a profit in their latest financial year – something not many do.

The turnover at Elland Road is said to be above €200million [£169.5million], approaching Milan who had European football and won the Serie A.

Money.

Leeds have no issues here financially.

They have already met the asking price of Club Brugges and have informed De Ketelaere himself that they can meet his personal wage demands at Elland Road.

That is no surprise given we are now into our third year of Premier League football on the bounce, with the financial aspect of that simply out of this world.

No one in Europe can compete with the yearly income of a Premier League side, and that is why staying in the division for longer than one or two years is critical.

Radrizzani is spending that money, and can’t be told that he is holding back.

With Phillips and Raphinha being sold this year, even with our seven new signings, the club will likely post yet another profit, with it being immaculately run.

Club Brugge and Mannaert will know that, and hopefully, they hold out for more money and in turn, send De Ketelaere to Elland Road – we definitely need it.
