Clive Tyldesley slams anonymous Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison in Everton match, Alan Shearer reacts
Clive Tyldesley slammed Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison in the first half of the Everton game against Manchester City on Wednesday (27 December).
Speaking on Prime Video on Wednesday (08:35pm), the commentator said he couldn’t remember the 27-year-old touching the ball for the Toffees in the opening 20 minutes of the contest at Goodison Park.
Shearer added that players want to have touches and get involved in the game, but he called for the English winger to remain patient and to wait for his opportunity to come.

“There have been one or two Everton players who have barely touched the ball yet and I can’t remember seeing Jack Harrison on the ball for instance,” said Tyldesley. “That’s a frustrating experience for any player, isn’t it?”
“Absolutely, yeah,” said Shearer. “Because you want to have touches and get on the ball. You want to be involved in the game, but sometimes as I said earlier, you’ve got to be patient.
“You’ve got to wait for your opportunity to come. Stay with your man, try and be as patient as possible.”
Shearer was right
It looks as though Tyldesley jumped the gun with his criticism of Harrison after he struggled to get on the ball in the opening stages of the game.
Less than 10 minutes later, the Leeds loanee stepped up to put Everton 1-0 up on 29 minutes to ensure his side went in ahead at the break at Goodison Park.
Shearer was right about the winger just having to bide his time and wait for his opportunity, which he did expertly as he came in off the right-hand flank to guide the ball into the net from point-blank range.

It’s no surprise to see Harrison has been in decent form for the Toffees this season, as he previously showed during his time at Elland Road that he is more than capable of competing at Premier League level.
Despite him only being on loan with the Blues, it feels unlikely he will return to West Yorkshire unless the Whites can secure promotion back to the top flight this season.
In other Leeds United news, one player could leave Elland Road on a cut-price deal in January if a fee can be agreed.
