Chris Wilder shares what Patrick Bamford did days after expletive Leeds chant

Patrick Bamford turned to celebration mode after Leeds sealed promotion and fired a dig at Chris Wilder in the process.

From a Leeds perspective, the last few days have been as hectic as ever, with Leeds United finally cementing their spot back in the Premier League at the second time of asking.

Not only did they seal promotion, but they did so in style with a 6-0 hammering of Stoke City on Easter Monday, a result that sparked some crazy celebrations after the game.

With Burnley securing victory against Sheffield United, Leeds players were captured living in the moment at Elland Road, and Bamford was leading the way.

Bamford targeted Wilder with chants after Leeds promotion

Bamford has been in the headlines all season, though more often than not, it is because he has been linked with an exit from Leeds.

However, on this occasion, he was front-page news, having started the chants that mocked Wilder immediately after the Whites sealed promotion at the expense of the Blades.

Wilder was asked about the footage ahead of Sheffield United’s clash with Stoke on Friday, and revealed that the pair had a phone call afterwards.

As quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Wilder said: “I’m a big boy, you give it, you take it. You give it out locally, you take it locally as I’ve always done. We have our moments, other teams have their moments.

“I had a conversation with Pat yesterday, and I’ve no issue at all with it. I’m not sure about the words from a fellow pro, but I appreciate and respect him giving me a call, and we had 20 minutes. I spoke to Daniel [Farke] as well and had a half-hour chat with him. He’s a top guy.”

‘Top guy’ Daniel Farke could be set to lose Leeds job

Promotion celebrations will go on for weeks among the fans, but behind the scenes, planning will have already started ahead of their Premier League campaign.

Not only will the summer window be pivotal to any success, but Leeds need to decide whether Daniel Farke is the man to lead the charge next season after rumours suggesting they could sack him.

Two huge games remain for the Whites in the hunt for the Championship title, and until then, it’s unlikely that any decision will be made.
