Chris Sutton slams Patrick Bamford in Leeds defeat v West Ham

Leeds United crashed to a disappointing 2-0 defeat in their Premier League clash against West Ham on Monday evening.

The Whites were the better side, had two goals disallowed and missed numerous chances, but it was two mistakes that saw them leave London with nothing yet again.

Patrick Bamford didn’t enjoy the best of nights at the London Stadium and missed two clear-chances that could have earned his side a point or more tonight.

Chris Sutton has slammed the England hopeful for his finishing, claiming that his second big chance was a “horrible” miss.

BBC Radio 5 Live shared some of their commentary on their official Twitter account, and Sutton’s five-word verdict summed up the evening for Leeds.

“That’s a horrible, horrible miss,” he said.

When it isn’t your night…

Leeds could still have been playing now, and we don’t think they would have found the back of the net, that’s just how our luck was.

Bamford missed two huge chances, but he wasn’t the only one, with the likes of Raphinha and Rodrigo also seeing opportunities go begging, on a night where the Whites really should have got something.

West Ham are challenging for Europe, and Leeds proved that without mistakes, they are easily on that level if they bring more consistency next season.

The London curse continues, but it isn’t without the want of trying, with the Whites consistently showing they can do the business, but when you don’t take your chances, you get nothing.
