Chris Sutton questions Leeds United fan on Daniel Farke after win v Swansea
Chirs Sutton was perplexed after a Leeds United fan expressed his doubts about Daniel Farke.
The Whites took on Swansea away from home on 24 November in the Championship, and the thrilling game ended in a 4-3 win for the visitors.
Leeds looked to have blown their lead when Luke Williams’ team scored in the 90th minute to equalise, but Wilfried Gnonto’s stoppage-time winner took the Peacocks to the top of the Championship table.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live [24 November], Sutton hailed Farke and gave the German his stamp of approval after the victory when a Leeds fan called in.
“You’ve got a good manager, haven’t you? Daniel Farke’s been there and done it. He just needs a bit of patience, really.”
But when the supporter seemed sceptical of the 48-year-old head coach, Sutton was perplexed and responded: “Well, you don’t sound convinced. What’s this ‘erm’? You got reservations?”

Farke made his way to the Whites after they were relegated from the Premier League in the 2022/23 season, taking over after Sam Allardyce left the club.
Maybe it’s the hangover from the dismissal of Marcelo Bielsa at the West Yorkshire club, but the German has done ever so well during his time at Elland Road.
The Peacocks barely missed out on promotion last season as they lost 1-0 to Southampton in the final of the play-offs.
Farke has Leeds back in the race to get back into the English top flight in the current campaign, and the doubts surrounding the suitability of the 48-year-old at the Whites seem out of hand.
The German has had to deal with multiple injury issues and has brought the best out of the likes of Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka to take the Peacocks to the league’s summit for now.
Things can only be expected to keep on improving once the likes of Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev return from the sidelines.
The Elland Road faithful need to back Farke, and the talks about him not being the right fit at the West Yorkshire club are discouraging, to say the least.
