Chris Sutton predicts draw for Leeds United v Brentford
Chris Sutton has predicted a draw for Leeds United in their next Premier League fixture against Brentford.
Both sides will faceoff in a matchday six clash at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they look for a repeat of the final day of last season.
Sutton, in a column for BBC Sports, predicted a close game between the two sides that will finish 1-1 in yet another draw for both.
“Leeds beat Brentford at the end of last season as they avoided relegation to the Championship,” he said. “Brentford have started this season well and they came back again against Crystal Palace to draw late.
“The Bees will be absolutely fine in terms of Premier League status because they are streetwise and resilient, and they will cause Leeds one or two problems. Brentford 1-1 Leeds. ”
Leeds had a flying start to their campaign where they won two out of the first three matches, including a 3-0 thrashing of Chelsea while playing at the Elland Road.
However, the last couple of results have sort of eased the hype around the Whites as they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion and had a 1-1 draw against Everton while playing at home.
Manager Jesse Marsch will be hoping that his players will be able to use this game as well as the one to follow against Nottingham Forest as an opportunity to get back to their very best.
However, the head-to-head record does not give Leeds fans a lot of hope as in 16 meetings between the teams in all competitions, the Whites have only managed to win on four occasions whereas they suffered five defeats in the process and seven matches ended in a stalemate [Transfermarkt].
In other Leeds United news, the club are now hell-bent on signing this “phenomenal” player in January.
