Chris Sutton left shocked by ‘amazing’ Leeds United amid Elland Road managerial development
Chris Sutton has been left shocked by the fact that Leeds United are yet to appoint a new manager as the season rapidly approaches.
The pundit finds it “amazing” that the Whites have not found a replacement for Sam Allardyce, who left at the end of last season.
The West Yorkshire outfit are, however, closing in on appointing a new boss, with Angus Kinnear and Paraag Marathe key figures in the process, as per Sky Sports (24 June).

“Leeds United, I do find this amazing,” Sutton said on 606 on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport. “They actually need a manager in right now, don’t they? The season is not that far away.
“There is recruitment to do, a new manager will come in who will like certain players, won’t like others. They need to get a move on.”

Time to get a move on
The most recent campaign may have just ended, but the new season is rapidly approaching, with clubs already preparing to get back to work on the training ground.
But that won’t be straightforward for the Whites, who don’t have someone to instruct things due to their lack of a manager.
The West Yorkshire club really do need to get a move on, but they also need to be careful that they don’t rush into things and appoint the wrong person in the dugout.
Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia and Allardyce were all given time in the role last time out, but all three found out just how difficult the job is.
The new boss will quickly figure that out too, but there is a huge reward available if the ship can be steadied at Elland Road, with Premier League football a possibility in just a few short years.
But that is much easier said than done, with the Championship set to be very competitive once again next season.
