Chris Sutton hails ‘incredible’ Leeds United turnaround v Wolves

Leeds United proved once more that they do not know when they are beaten as they came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 away at Wolves.

Jack Harrison and Rodrigo both scored within moments of each other to draw the game level just after the hour before Luke Ayling popped up with a stoppage-time winner to send the Molineux away end barmy.

It was a second game running that the Whites have stolen three points at the death after Joe Gelhardt’s 96th-minute winner against Norwich last weekend.

BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton was in awe of what Leeds managed to do last night but also lamented the decision to send Raul Jimenez off after a collision with Illan Meslier.

“Leeds United what an incredible turnaround. Made the most of the shocking decision to send off Jimenez… huge result though. Fair play to Jesse Marsch,” Sutton said on his personal Twitter account.

Harsh yellow?

There is no taking anything away from Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United after that display and those fans that made the trip to the Black Country will remember that night for a long time.

But they were helped out somewhat by a more than dubious refereeing decision.

Leeds United

It probably is a foul but when you really look at the challenge, there isn’t one, Jimenez just can’t stop his momentum before reaching the Whites’ shot-stopper.

This is where we could do with former footballers being referees because they understand that it wasn’t a challenge worthy of a yellow card, (Jimenez’s second of the night).

The score was still 2-0 at the time and there is every argument to suggest the home side would have gone onto win had it not happened but that doesn’t mean no credit can be lavished upon Leeds.

They still had to score those three goals to turn the game around and Marsch set them up to do just that despite four injuries in the 90 minutes.

In other Leeds United news, Jamie Carragher had very high praise for one Whites ace after yesterday’s dramatic victory.
