Chris Sutton ‘delighted’ for Daniel Farke after Leeds vs West Ham as regret emerges

Leeds United won three valuable points against West Ham United in the Premier League on Friday.

Elland Road welcomed Nuno Espirito Santo’s team on 24 October, with Breden Aaronson and Joe Rodon giving the hosts an early lead.

While Mateus Fernandes gave the home fans a scare in the 90th minute of the 2-1 win, the Whites managed to see out the Hammers’ threat in stoppage time.

Daniel Farke’s future was uncertain at Elland Road in the summer, but Paraag Marathe has certainly been vindicated in his decision to stick with the German manager after winning the Championship title.

Norwich City rue Daniel Farke sack as Leeds United beat West Ham

Chris Sutton is glad to see Farke thriving in the Premier League with Leeds.

The ex-Norwich City forward is happy to see the German manager showcasing his talent in the English top flight after his stints at Carrow Road.

Sutton seems to regret the Canaries’ sacking of the 48-year-old head coach in 2021, as he continues to improve the West Yorkshire outfit.

Sutton wrote on X on 24 October: “Delighted for Farke for showing what a good manager he is and making Leeds competitive in the Premier League. If only Norwich hadn’t sacked him all those years ago.”

Farke is tasked with avoiding Premier League relegation this season, and they have now opened up a decent gap with the drop zone.

The former Norwich boss still isn’t out of pressure in LS11, as the Whites have a tough spell coming up towards the start of December, which could make or break their season.

Brenden Aaronson does something unexpected in win vs West Ham

Aaronson scored against West Ham at Elland Road, something that not many would’ve predicted prior to kickoff.

Before finding the back of the net for Leeds against the Hammers, the USA international had scored just twice in 2025, both in the Championship against Swansea and Cardiff City.

The American attacker isn’t the most revered player among supporters, but it looks like Farke trusts him to perform well on the right-wing.

With Dan James currently not fit, Aaronson has secured his place in the starting lineup and has given the German manager a much-needed option up front at Elland Road.
