Chris Foy: Ref made right decision during Leeds United v Wolves
Chris Foy claims that Romain Saiss did not deserve to be sent off during Leeds United v Wolves on Saturday at Elland Road.
The Wolves defender went for the ball and ended up clipping Raphinha’s ankle in the followthrough.
This saw the Brazilian suffer an injury and he played no part in the game, with referee David Coote handing Saiss a yellow.

While there were a few people who thought that he deserved a red, Foy, a former Premier League referee believes that Coote made the correct call.
On Premier League’s Weekend Review, he said, “That was a bit reckless but I think yellow was the right call. He didn’t deserve a red there.”
Could’ve gone either way
It wasn’t violent conduct in any way, but Saiss still caught Raphinha terribly, so much so that he had to be taken off right away.
These calls are often subjective, and we’re sure that not all referees who saw the incident would come to a unanimous verdict.
However, one thing that frustrates us is the lack of consistency in these decisions.

Pascal Struijk got a straight red and had his ban upheld for a challenge on Liverpool’s Harvey Elliot while it seemed like he had won the ball fair and square.
We’re still unsure as to when Raphinha will be back and we’re hoping that it’s in time for next weekend.
Even if he is fit for the Arsenal game in the EFL Cup, he’s possibly not going to be anywhere near the starting eleven for that one.
