Chelsea transfer news as Tyler Adams exit now increasingly likely at Leeds United

Chelsea are set to step up their interest in Leeds United star Tyler Adams this week, according to Phil Hay.

The Athletic journalist has reported that the American international has a release clause in the region of £20million after relegation from the Premier League.

It has been described as “increasingly likely” that Adams will sign for Chelsea, who are finding it difficult to bring in Brighton star Moises Caicedo.

Hay followed up the story on his personal Twitter account, sharing the following: “Chelsea set to step up interest in Tyler Adams.

“Increasingly likely that they will sign the Leeds United midfielder, who has a release clause in his deal.”

Daniel Farke

No Surprise.

The fact that Adams is set to leave the club is no surprise whatsoever, but a move to Chelsea potentially is given that he is injured and the money they have to spend.

It is clear that this has come through desperation given their attempts to sign Caicedo continue to frustrate them, with Brighton standing firm in their valuations.

£20million is much-welcomed cash too for Daniel Farke, who will want that money immediately reinvested into his side, with the 49ers promising an aggressive approach.

One thing that does do is add another position onto the target list though, with left-back, centre-back, midfield and attack all needing reinforcements.

Selling an injured player who may not play for another month will also reduce the need to sell any other players between now and the deadline, so this one may work out nicely.

It will be sad to part ways, but no one can say they weren’t prepared for this.
