Chelsea mock Leeds United as social media post emerges after Premier League relegation

Chelsea have mocked Leeds United after the Whites were relegated from the Premier League on the final day of the 2022/23 season.

Sam Allardyce’s side suffered a 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road which confirmed their return to the Championship after a three-year stay in the top flight.

Chelsea’s Twitter account took great joy in Leeds’ relegation and posted a reply to a previous tweet from the Whites’ account early in the season which said “life comes at you fast!”.

“It certainly does,” replied Chelsea (28 May).

Embarrassing

The 3-0 win over Chelsea was probably Leeds’ best moment of the season. But, after the Blues’ dismal season, the result actually wasn’t that impressive. It was certainly a high point of Jesse Marsch’s career at Elland Road.

The board have got so many questions to answer.

Andrea Radrizzani’s blind faith in Victor Orta has caused this mess. Orta was responsible for Marcelo Bielsa and Raphinha, but his reputation has relied on those two moves for far too long. The appointment of Marsch was nonsensical. We could all see it was doomed from the outset.

It’s now absolutely vital that Leeds get to work behind the scenes. A sporting director is required, and fast. Furthermore, Allardyce is unlikely to be the man who leads the club forward. A new manager will be needed and that’s something which has to be resolved as soon as feasibly possible.

It promises to be a massive summer in West Yorkshire.

In other Leeds United news, David Prutton offered his assessment on the “ultimate slap in the face” to the club’s fans.
