Chelsea could make progress to hire Leeds United chief Victor Orta
Chelsea could reportedly make progress to hire Leeds United director of football Victor Orta.
According to former Eurosport journalist Dean Jones, he is one worth looking out for as the Blues have his name on the list.
New owner Todd Boehly wants to build a proper structure out there and is keen on Orta.

Jones told Give Me Sport, “Victor Orta is still somebody that we should be looking out for.
“There could be some progress on that front as he’s one of the names on their list.”
Might leave?
Moving to a club like Chelsea may be too big a thing in Orta’s career to turn down.
He’s formerly been at Middlesbrough and if somebody offered him the chance to be the sporting director at one of the biggest European clubs, he would’ve taken it.
Leeds have developed well under Orta and losing him may not be the worst thing in the world for them.
It’s always nice to keep shuffling things so that the ideas do not get stale and ideally, getting a new director now with more than half a year left for the next summer window would give him enough time to understand the club’s ethos and shortlist players that fit that philosophy.
Leeds can also demand a hefty compensation from the Blues so it could be a decent financial manoeuvre as well.
In other Leeds United news, an Elland Road-linked midfielder is now certain to leave his club in the coming weeks as a host of Premier League clubs are vying for his services.
