Chelsea ace Levi Colwill reacts as Leeds United contract news emerges
Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has reacted to the news that Charlie Cresswell has signed a new four-year deal at Leeds United.
As per the official Leeds website, the 20-year-old centre-back has committed his future to the Whites until the summer of 2027.
Among those reacting to the news was fellow defender Colwill, who himself has agreed in principle a new six-year deal at Chelsea [The Guardian, 31 July].

Sharing a photo of his new contract being signed, Cresswell posted on Instagram: “4 More Years.”
Chelsea defender Colwill was then among several players to react to the post.

Bright future ahead
Both central defenders have hugely bright futures ahead, having worked together while on international duty with England Under-21s.
It was the Chelsea man who was chosen by manager Lee Carsley as the Young Lions lifted the European Under-21 Championship trophy, with Colwill lining out at centre-back alongside Taylor Harwood-Bellis in the 1-0 win against Spain last month.
Leeds youngster Cresswell was on the bench that evening, but will have gained superb experience throughout the tournament.
And that experience will no doubt help him shine for Leeds next season following his season-long loan at Millwall last time out.
The Elland Road club clearly think highly of the 20-year-old, but it remains to be seen if new manager Daniel Farke values him highly enough to hand him a starting role at centre-back next season.
The youngster is certainly in with a shout, with senior duo Max Wober and Robin Koch having recently left the club on loan.
In other Leeds United news, Farke has spoken out on the club’s transfer plans after a double injury blow for the Elland Road side.
