Charlie Crew unveiled as mystery Leeds United youngster on Daniel Farke’s mind
Charlie Crew is believed to be the mystery Leeds United youngster Daniel Farke referenced in a recent press conference, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The newspaper reported on its website on Wednesday (13 March) that the Whites boss intimated that he had been impressed by one youngster in particular behind the scenes at Thorp Arch in his press conference on 7 March.
The German suggested that the player in question could make a breakthrough into the first team next season, with the 17-year-old Crew, who is expected to be called up to Wales U-21 squad for the upcoming internationals, believed to be the man on the manager’s radar at Elland Road.
Charlie Crew an exciting prospect for Leeds United
It appears as though Crew is certainly an exciting prospect for Leeds and that he could be involved in the first-team setup before too long.
It’s clear that Farke has no problem with bringing younger players into his squad after 17-year-old Archie Gray has been an almost ever-present this season.
But the Whites boss will be keen to find the right moment to introduce the midfielder and, given what’s at stake over the next couple of months, it could be next season before he gets his chance.

The German isn’t the only one who’s been impressed with the Welshman this season after his compatriot Ethan Ampadu spoke about his excitement at the teenager training with Rob Page’s first team back in September.
It looks as though Crew is certainly one to keep an eye on and that it’s only a matter of time before he makes his debut at Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, a £20million permanent transfer has been mooted for one Whites loanee.
