Charlie Cresswell could earn Leeds United recall v Leicester City after what Daniel Farke said today
Charlie Cresswell could be set for a recall to the Leeds United squad for their Championship clash with Leicester on Fridauy after what Daniel Farke said.
The Whites take on the Championship leaders on Friday night at the King Power Stadium and expect to have Joe Rodon available despite him hobbling off with a hamstring problem during the 4-1 win over Huddersfield last weekend.
But should the Welsh loanee be unavailable to play 90 minutes, the Yorkshire Evening Post report (1 November) that Cresswell could return to the matchday squad as “insurance” to Farke.

“Cresswell could return to the Whites’ matchday squad this weekend as insurance if Joe Rodon is not cleared to play 90 minutes following his substitution against Huddersfield Town last weekend,” they wrote.
Unlikely
Farke has confirmed that Cresswell won’t be included in the Under-21’s squad for the game that is happening elsewhere on the same night, which suggests he is the plans for this big game.
But if Rodon is fit and available, then it would be odd to see a difference to the manager’s squad from recent weeks where Liam Cooper was the man named on the bench as cover for the starting centre-backs.

Pascal Struijk and Rodon have established themselves as first-choice with their performances in recent weeks and deservedly so, and Cooper is a fantastic back-up option.
After Cresswell signed a new four-year deal in the summer he was expected to have a much bigger role this season and a January exit certainly shouldn’t be ruled out at this point.
However if he is in contention for this game then it’s certainly a positive step towards more minutes and that can only be a good thing for him and for Leeds.
