Charles De Ketelaere likely to wave goodybe and thank agent ahead of AC Milan move in next 24 hours, Leeds United bid on table

Charles De Ketelaere is set to wave goodbye to Club Brugges in the next 24 hours with Leeds United still having their monster bid on the table, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper has reported in its print edition [29 July, pg. 2] that unfortunately, the Belgian wonder will finally seal his dream move to AC Milan after a breakthrough is on the verge of being reached.

It is said that De Ketelaere will thank his agent and then make the move after he said no to a move to Elland Road with £33.5million still being on the table.

Writing in their latest snippet, La Gazzetta Dello Sport made it clear as they have tried to do for many weeks now that the move to the San Siro was happening.

“The break would be total and it is not even simple to assume the arrival in August of a €40million [£33.5million] from a large club,” they wrote.

“Charles said no to Leeds and let the world know that, for him, there is only Milan.

“More likely that today – at most tomorrow – is the day of the agreement, farewell to Brugges and thanks to the agent.”

Leeds United

Move on.

Please, let this be the sign to finally move on.

Victor Orta appears to have wasted a lot of time on this particular deal when it never really looked like happening, and except for a huge twist, it isn’t going to.

What is worst is that it looks as though no deal for a new striker is even that close, despite a new number nine being looked at as a priority since the day after we survived in the Premier League at Brentford.

How can that even happen?

Of course, strengthening the midfield and finding replacements for Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips so early was brilliant to see, but the struggle of this particular deal could sour the window.

Orta, as well as Andrea Radrizzani now has the huge task of finding another new striker who can come in and hit the ground running at Elland Road, with a left-back also on the cards.

Both deals aren’t exactly going smoothly we would say, but we are praying for some progress over this upcoming weekend ahead of the new Premier League season.
