Charles De Ketelaere could be set for AC Milan meeting after Leeds United made approach
Leeds United target Charles De Ketelaere is eyeing a move to AC Milan, and his agent now looks to schedule a meeting with the Serie A club, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian media outlet reported on 7 July that the Belgian attacker has told Club Brugge that he wants to leave this summer, with Milan being his preferred choice.
The player’s agent has rejected a £30 million offer from Leeds as the attacker wants to move to Italy.
Club Brugge have rejected the opening offer from AC Milan and it seems further talks are set to continue in the coming weeks.
This is a very delicate situation at the moment.
The offer from AC Milan was nowhere near the club’s asking price. Milan can offer him Champions League football, but they will have to first afford him.
It seems, Leeds are in a better financial position for Milan at the moment, and they have really presented a good offer.
The youngster, obviously, is tempted by the prospect of playing in big European games, but the Whites must not give up on their chase.
Leeds must pitch themselves in a positive light by offering him the platform to play regularly in the Premier League, along with the incentives of better wages.
The Whites do have money to spend this summer following the departure of Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City. They can expect more money to arrive if Raphinha leaves as well.
Jesse Marsch is building a fantastic squad which looks more balanced. Ketelaere, 21, would be a cracking addition to the side, but it looks a bit difficult at the moment.
