Celtic hold Daniel Farke talks, Leeds United stance could change
Celtic have held initial talks with Leeds United manager target Daniel Farke as the Hoops step up their hunt for Ange Postecoglou’s replacement, according to Sky Sports journalist, Florian Plettenberg.
The Athletic’s Phil Hay reported on 10 June that Farke was a potential candidate for the vacant managerial position at Elland Road.
However, it’s believed the Bhoys have opened talks with the German and that they are “very interested” in the former Norwich boss (Florian Plettenberg, Twitter, 10 June).
It’s believed Leeds are an option for Farke but nothing as “advanced” at present. However, that could change next week. It’s understood the 46-year-old is ready to take over a new side.
Interesting
Farke certainly has Championship pedigree with Norwich. The German was the mastermind behind the Canaries’ promotion to the Premier League and there’s no reason why he couldn’t repeat the trick at Elland Road.

Leeds need a boss with experience – someone who knows how to get out of the second tier. Scott Parker is another name that has emerged and the former Fulham and Bournemouth chief wouldn’t be the worst option to pursue.
If the board are looking for an immediate return to the Premier League then one of Parker and Farke would be a safe option. Obviously, the Celtic interest is an issue. The Hoops are a massive club and could prove too much to turn down for Farke.
But, surely the chance to take a huge club back up to the Premier League would be too much to turn down?
With the 49ers now in control, it’s essential a decision is made when it comes to a new head coach. The longer the board twiddle their thumbs, the less chance the squad will have of an immediate return to the top flight.
In other Leeds United news, a former Elland Road figure is emerging as a “serious contender” for the manager’s job.
