CBS journalist wants Chelsea to sack Graham Potter so Leeds United can hire him as manager
CBS journalist Jake Winderman has called for Chelsea to sack Graham Potter, and for Leeds United to swoop to hire him at Elland Road.
Chelsea have won just two of their last 13 games in the Premier League, leaving the former Brighton boss under heavy pressure for a job he only took back in October of last year.
But with Leeds desperately searching for a new manager after sacking Jesse Marsch and being rejected by several of their initial options, Winderman has told the club to keep an eye on Potter in case he becomes available.
“Chelsea need to just fire Graham Potter already so Leeds can scoop him up as their full-time manager,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (11 February).
“Would be best for both parties. I think Potter would be a tremendous fit for [Leeds] and a fan-favourite.”
Ideal
It’s far from a realistic scenario right now, but Potter in the dugout at Elland Road is most certainly something that would be appealing to the Whites.
Potter was absolutely fantastic at Brighton and right now the lights at Chelsea seem a little bit to much too soon for him, and he is struggling to cope with their superstar-filled dressing room.

But at Leeds he would be surrounded by incredibly talented young prospects, as well as experienced heads who know what it takes to play in the Premier League.
He’d be afforded time to get things right in the long-term and could be the perfect appointment to not only steer us away from relegation this season but also going forward into the future.
As it stands it seems unlikely that Chelsea part ways with him, but if he does become available in the very immediate future then Victor Orta should most certainly be on the phone as soon as possible.
