Cars gather outside Elland Road with Leeds United expected to hire Daniel Farke within hours
There’s been a buzz of activity outside of Elland Road in the last few hours amid news that Leeds United are expected to complete the appointment of Daniel Farke on Tuesday.
The Athletic journalist Phil Hay reported on Monday night (3 July) that the German will be confirmed as Leeds’ new permanent manager by the end of 4 July.
It is understood that the former Norwich manager flew into the UK on Monday and will take over training at Thorp Arch on Wednesday (5 July).
Leeds fans are now staking out Elland Road with the hope of a glimpse of Farke.
One user on Twitter, Harry Matthews, shared an image from outside of the Leeds stadium, showing that an entourage of cars had appeared and been parked up.
One of the vehicles looks like a blacked-out minicab.
Is he here?
Leeds fans have regularly spotted new signings and managerial appointments outside of Elland Road before they have been officially unveiled by the club.
But have the club done a better job of keeping it all under wraps this time?

There are plenty of rumours flying about but that minicab definitely looks like something Farke could have arrived in at Elland Road to sign his contract, hold up a shirt of a scarf in the stands and pose for media photos.
It’s about time Leeds have got this deal done; it should’ve been completed weeks and weeks ago.
Our players are already back in training now and they have no manager to watch over them for the first few days of their efforts to get back up to fitness.
All the clubs who do have managers have a bit of a headstart on Leeds this summer so Farke and his backroom staff will have to work very hard to get up to speed this summer.
It’s not been a great start for Angus Kinnear with his new paymaster. However, he’s hiring a good manager and that should hopefully be what we all remember come May rather than this protracted process.
In other Leeds United news, a first-team attacker is set to leave on loan with an option to make the deal permanent.
