Carragher makes stunning Middlesbrough v Leeds prediction after what happened

Jamie Carragher is expecting a tight game between Middlesbrough and Leeds United on Tuesday.

Ghosts of the past are already coming back to Leeds after they dropped out of the Championship top two following a 1-1 draw against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, 5 April.

With only six games left to play, the Elland Road outfit are in tricky waters as they look to claw their way back into the automatic promotion spots.

Anything less than three points will be deemed not good enough when they travel to the Riverside Stadium to face Michael Carrick’s side on 8 April.

However, things are not looking too good for Leeds, who have won only one of their six games in the Championship.

Daniel Farke’s side go into the game in North Yorkshire on the back of three consecutive draws, while fifth-placed Boro have won three and drawn one of their last four matches.

Going by form, the Whites face an uphill task to walk out of the Riverside Stadium with all three points, but Carragher expects them to flip the script.

Predicting the upcoming Championship clash for Sky Sports’ Super6, the Liverpool legend backed Leeds to earn a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough.

Farke to get back to winning ways

Carragher is not the only one to back Leeds to claim all three points against Middlesbrough, with Opta’s supercomputer giving them a 46 per cent chance of victory at Riverside.

The Elland Road outfit will want to avoid participating in the playoffs at all costs after missing out on promotion at the final hurdle last season.

Considering Leeds’ recent run of form, it would not be a surprise if Farke made some big calls, with the likes of Patrick Bamford raring to go.
