Carlton Palmer tips Brenden Aaronson Leeds United exit as ‘clause’ twist emerges
Carlton Palmer expects Brenden Aaronson to depart Leeds United during the summer transfer window after the attacking midfielder was linked with a move to Fulham.
The Daily Mail reported on 25 June that 22-year-old American was subject to an approach from the West Londoners – but the conditions have yet to be met.
Talking to Football League World on Thursday 29 June, Palmer feels Aaronson will depart given his large salary at Elland Road.

“Fulham are said to be interested in Leeds’ American midfielder player Brenden Aaronson on loan,” said the BBC Sport pundit.
“It appears that Brenden has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave the club on loan should Leeds get relegated But, as it stands at the moment, Fulham have not met the full conditions of the loan agreement.
“I would expect the player to depart on loan, if not permanently, this summer given his salary.”
Makes sense
Aaronson moved to Elland Road with an extremely large reputation but it’s fair to say he didn’t live up to expectations. At times he looked flustered and out of his depth in the Premier League.
He was a big-money addition and will be on a significant wage – so it makes an awful lot of sense for Leeds to move him on. He’s still young and it would be foolish to write him off. He could make the move to Fulham and excel in a team that isn’t struggling near the foot of the table.

An exodus cannot be written off. There are five or six players who could depart and free up plenty of squad space for the incoming manager.
At present, Daniel Farke looks like the most likely man to be given the job. It would be a safe pair of hands for the board. He’s achieved promotion twice before whilst playing some fairly attractive football at the same time. Leeds could certainly do worse when it comes to their managerial appointment.
