Carlton Palmer: Leeds must sign Arnaut Danjuma

Leeds United must sign Netherlands international Arnaut Danjuma, claims Carlton Palmer.

The Whites were linked with moves for wide attackers all summer, and ended up signing Dan James on transfer deadline day.

However, Palmer believes that the Whites should still look for another player and thinks Danjuma, who’s currently at Villarreal, fits what Marcelo Bielsa wants from his attackers.

“He’s an exciting player,” the talkSPORT pundit said to This Is Futbol. “He’s got flair, he’s got pace and he scores goals. He scored 17 goals in the Championship and I think he’s got six in all competitions so far. But I just don’t see where Leeds would have the money to bring him in.

“He certainly fits the model that Bielsa is looking for, you know, in the way he plays, that he’s 24 years of age, so everything works.”

Worth considering?

We’re still baffled as to why Bielsa pushed Victor Orta to sign James from Manchester United.

During his Swansea days, he seemed like a player with a high ceiling, but since his move to Elland Road fell through, he’s shown that he’s not quite good enough for the Premier League.

Bielsa may have been under the impression that James was the same player he came close to signing to 2019.

Thus far, the Wales international hasn’t proved to be good enough, and signing someone like Danjuma would undoubtedly be a good move.

He’s more technical than Jack Harrison as well and would be ahead of the Englishman in the pecking order.

Off the ball too, the former Bournemouth attacker is exemplary and his recent performances have seen him being recalled to the Dutch national side as well.

If we were Orta, he would be one we would be keeping an eye on for next summer.
