Cameron Archer ‘set for Leeds United transfer today’ after new help

Leeds United could be set to sign Southampton striker Cameron Archer after a new development, according to Adam Blackmore.

The BBC Radio Solent reporter claimed (3 February) that the Saints move for Victor Udoh [Fabrizio Romano] could help the Whites to secure the former Aston Villa man.

The Elland Road club are preparing a £15 million offer for the 23-year-old [TEAMtalk] after an initial approach was rejected by the Premier League strugglers.

Archer to Leeds United deal on?

It could be an exciting day for Whites supporters if the Yorkshire club can seal a deal for Archer before the 11 pm deadline.

Daniel Farke is keen to add to his forward line due to the inconsistent performances of Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph upfront.

The Elland Road outfit are in pole position to be promoted to the Premier League and securing the former Sheffield United man would strengthen their chances.

There are concerns over the England Under-21 international’s pedigree in the top flight, with just six goals in 60 appearances in the competition in stints at the Saints, the Blades and Aston Villa.

However, his record in the second tier is much better, he has notched 18 goals and seven assists in 42 appearances in the division.

Right now, the focus is getting to the promised land, and signing Archer would definitely help Farke’s side achieve their goal.
