Callum Robinson applauds Ao Tanaka after what Leeds ace did v Cardiff

Callum Robinson was left with no choice but to applaud Ao Tanaka after he deceived him with the ball as Leeds United embarrassed Cardiff City.

Daniel Farke’s side produced a completely dominant display as they hammered the Bluebirds 7-0 with Tanaka providing assists for two of his side’s goals.

The 26-year-old delivered his usual high standard of performance and proved to be too much for his opponents to handle throughout the game.

In fact, this was so much the case that opponent Robinson couldn’t help but applaud his opponents as Graham Smyth reported in the Yorkshire Evening Post (2 February) what happened off the ball: “Callum Robinson applauding Tanaka after the midfielder deceived him completely with the way he received and turned with the ball to escape pressure.”

Ao Tanaka continues to impress at Leeds United

In his debut season in West Yorkshire, Tanaka has more than impressed at Elland Road and gained himself status as a fan favourite and certainly an undroppable player for Farke.

The midfielder is highly impressive with his work on the ball and his ability to glide past players and leave his opponent confused, makes him so good to watch.

When even your opposing player is left applauding you for the way you deceive him, it certainly is a sign that you are an extremely high-level player.

The Whites are continuing their push for promotion to the Premier League this term and after picking up three points on Saturday, sit two points clear at the top of the table.

With results like this allowing everyone to enjoy the football, Farke will be hoping his side can keep this up in the hope of seeing their midfielder deliver in the top flight next term.
