‘Calling my agent’ – Leeds midfielder details six offers to leave Elland Road in window

Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Bogusz sealed a loan move at the end of the window to Spanish club Logrones.

The Polish youth international signed a new contract at Elland Road at the beginning of the season and admitted that the goal was always to leave on loan.

A move to the lower-divisions in Spain could be viewed as disappointing, but Bougusz admitted that they play a similar style to Leeds.

Bogusz claimed in his first interview with his loan club that he had five or six offers from other clubs to leave West Yorkshire temporarily.

“It was my first real experience of closing the market and I was calling my agent the whole time, asking him where he was going and when,” he said.

“On the very morning of the last market day, I had 5-6 offers from Poland, Italy, England… And I wasn’t sure where I was going to go. In the end, we all thought that Spain was the best place for me.”

Bogusz has been in and out of the first-team squad under Marcelo Bielsa, and what advice did the South American give his midfield talent?

The 19-year-old admitted that his coach is one of the best in the world, but that everyone believes it would be more benefitial for him to get more game time.

It is clear that the playmaker is a brilliant talent, and having a full season of senior football will be brilliant, but it could have been more benefitial to remain in England.
