BT Sport pundit shares prediction of Leeds United Premier League clash v Manchester City

Joleon Lescott has predicted Leeds United to suffer defeat against Manchester City on boxing day in the Premier League.

The Whites go into the game in 15th place and could be in the relegation zone by the time they take on City if other results go against them.

City, on the other hand, will be looking to catch up to Arsenal who are currently five points clear at the top of the table.

Speaking to Livescore, Lescott, a BT Sport pundit, said, “Elland Road will be hostile for the visit of Manchester City but I’d be surprised if they don’t take all three points against Leeds.

“It’s very rare you see Pep Guardiola’s men lose two league games in a row after slipping up at home against Brentford last month.

“They’ll be determined to lay down a marker here ahead of the second half of the campaign.

“Prediction: Leeds 0-2 Manchester City.”

Tough one

Home advantage is one thing but facing off against a side like Manchester City, is another.

They’ve got the best team and best manager in Europe and everyone in the Leeds side will have to give their 10/10 in order to get the job done.

It is possible and has been done before but it’s certainly going to take a lot from the players.

All the fans want is for everyone to show up with the right attitude and not be on vacation still as that often is the case when the season is just starting.

City had a lot of players at the World Cup so they’re obviously going to be fresher and hopefully, Leeds have used the time off to work on some new systems.

It’s going to be an intriguing battle and it remains to be seen if Jesse Marsch has an ace up his sleeve in order to take the game to City or at least give them something to worry about on the break as they’ve got a number of speedy players that can hurt the opposition.
