BT Sport pundit predicts Leeds United clash v Everton

Joleon Lescott has predicted Leeds United to continue their misery when they take on Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, 18 February.

Both teams sacked their respective managers recently but the Toffees have already found a replacement in Sean Dyche who’s managed the last two games.

Leeds, on the other hand, are still in search of a permanent appointment as Michael Skubala is the interim manager for the next few games.

Lescott, a BT Sport pundit, told Livescore, “What a huge game for both sides. Everton leapfrogging Leeds with a win would potentially spark a huge momentum shift.

“The Whites are taking a long time to appoint Jesse Marsch’s replacement and that could prove costly ahead of this crunch encounter.

“I’m hoping that my old club can get the job done.

“Prediction: Everton 2-1 Leeds.”

Win at all costs

Leeds cannot afford to treat this game as any less than a cup final.

They have not been proactive in their search for a manager and will thus not benefit from the bounce fresh ideas bring to the table.

Everton experienced that with Dyche as they beat Arsenal in his first game in charge and Leeds are going to have to rely on Skubala and co for the near future at least.

Hopefully, he manages to get the job done against Dyche’s side as this is a game Leeds cannot afford to lose.

Winning it is going to be massive as there’s a very good chance Leeds and Everton remain the final two clubs fighting for 17th place.

Losing this game could be a psychological blow for either side and that is why Leeds cannot afford to as they’re already in a mess in terms of their managerial situation and cannot end the weekend in the bottom three.
