BT Sport pundit: Marcelo Bielsa sacking will ensure Leeds United avoiding relegation

Steve Sidwell believes that Marcelo Bielsa’s sacking is the reason Leeds United will retain their Premier League status.

He believes that under the Argentine there was complete chaos and Jesse Marsch has organised the team better.

Despite their tricky run of games that include Chelsea and Arsenal, the BT Sport pundit believes Leeds are going to stay up.

On the Premier League Analysis Show, he said, “They have been a bit erratic recently. I think it was the right call to sack Bielsa. There was total carnage. Too many gaps.

“I feel they’ll survive by the skin of their teeth.”

Harsh on El Loco

Sidwell does not seem to be balanced in the assessment of Bielsa.

He clearly is basing his entire tenure at Elland Road on the last few months when results were really bad.

However, he’s not taking into consideration the number of injuries the Argentine had to deal with.

He also was not backed in the transfer windows, both in January as well as the summer.

It’s hard to expect anything else than what is happening now without a fresh injection of talented players.

Leeds were never 17th under Bielsa and they find themselves in that position fighting for their lives.

Marsch really needs to change things quickly or it could be his job on the line if the Whites are in the Championship next season.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could look to sign a ‘Phenomenal’ attacking midfielder this summer as he’s already bid farewell to fans of his club.
