BT Sport pundit: Leeds United ace Tyler Adams 'Exceptional' at FIFA World Cup 2022 for United States

Lucy Ward has been left thrilled by the performances of Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams against Iran as well as the entire FIFA World Cup.

The 23-year-old has captained the United States to the Round of 16 and guided them to a 1-0 victory over Iran on 29 November.

They will now face off against the Netherlands and Adams has been one of the standout players for them thus far.

Speaking on the FIFA world feed, Ward, a BT Sport pundit, said (29/11, 20:58), “Talk about the work rate of Tyler Adams, in this game, in fact, all games. He’s been exceptional.”

Adams has shown great maturity in this tournament, both on and off the pitch and we could not be happier for him.

He’s joined Leeds with big shoes to fill and has delivered for his club side and then gone on to star for his national side on the biggest stage of them all.

Jesse Marsch brought him to Elland Road for a reason and thus far, his decision to back the United States man has proven to be vindicated.

We cannot wait to see how far Adams, Brenden Aaronson and this entire American side can go as they’ve got decent players who play good football.

The Netherlands aren’t going to be easy but they cannot take the US challenge for granted and will watch the England performance for lessons.

As fans, we’re going to be spoilt for the next couple of weeks as we’re treated to some incredible football from different countries in the world.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are now scouting an attacker at the World Cup and a January move appears to be on the cards for them.
