Sky Sports pundit hails fantastic Leeds star who was ‘running the game’ in 1-0 win v Boro

Sky Sports pundit Michael Brown has hailed the versatility of Leeds United defender Stuart Dallas after another great performance in the 1-0 win against Middlesbrough.

The Northern Ireland international has started every single Championship game this season, and Brown has been impressed with him whether featuring in defence or midfield.

Brown claimed that Dallas was running the game from left-back against Middlesbrough on Wednesday, and was at the heart of most things positive for the Whites.

Brown claimed that Dallas’ ability to a fantastic option is one of the reasons why Leeds fans will love him, and why he is great for the squad.

“Left-back and he was running the game,” he told Football Insider.

“He had a fantastic game, I think he’s got great energy, he fits in. He’s a real all-round team player. I wouldn’t say he perfects in any position but he’s a fantastic squad player.

“Supporters will love him because of the application that he puts in so I think he’s great for the squad.”

Brown is spot on with his praise for Dallas, and he has clearly become one of the vital cogs of this Leeds machine.

The 28-year-old was once again superb against Middlesbrough. LUFC DATA pointed out the influence Dallas managed to have in each third of the pitch.

Dallas had 91 touches of the ball, completed 46 successful passes, as well as making seven interceptions – the most on the entire park in each of those categories.

Those numbers highlighted how Dallas is vital in defence as well as getting on the ball and creating chances going forward into the final third.

Left-back has been a problem area for Marcelo Bielsa at times this season, but with Dallas now cementing his spot there rather than midfield, El Loco seems to have certainly found the winning formula at Elland Road.
